Fuchs Builds Out Its North American Team With a New Commercial GM and Key Accounts Director

Fuchs, the Terex-owned German manufacturer of material handlers, has made two senior appointments in North America in the first months of 2026, and both point in the same direction: more dealer coverage and faster parts.

On January 20, 2026, Fuchs named John Fair as Commercial General Manager for North America. Fair previously led equipment businesses including SDLG, SANY America, Mahindra USA, and Krone NA, with a track record in distribution network development. His brief covers commercial strategy across the region, working with the engineering and manufacturing teams in Germany, and strengthening aftermarket support through the Terex parts facility in Louisville, Kentucky. He made his debut at the AED Summit in Dallas the same week.

"John's experience building successful distribution networks makes him an exceptional fit for this role," said Todd Goss, General Manager of Terex Louisville.

On April 16, 2026, Fuchs followed up by appointing Richard Currie as Sales Director of Key Accounts for North America, a role focused on the large scrap, recycling, and port accounts that run fleets of MHL machines.

The Parts Angle

The most concrete piece of the announcement for owners is the Louisville connection. Fuchs is routing North American aftermarket support through the Terex Louisville parts facility, with the stated goal of improving parts availability and service responsiveness. Terex describes Louisville as a 134,000-square-foot warehouse with an automated parts picking system and a second shift, and it serves several Terex brands, Franna included. For a scrap yard running an MHL 350 two shifts a day, the distance between the machine and the nearest stocked rotator seal or tine tip is the number that matters.

On the product side, Fuchs launched the SWS 400 trommel screen for the scrap and metal recycling industry in late 2025, and the F120 MH Electric, a fully electric material handler, is now part of the lineup alongside the diesel MHL series.

What This Means for Latin America

Fuchs is heavily used in scrap, recycling, and port operations across Latin America and the Caribbean, and most of those parts move through Miami. A better-stocked North American parts operation upstream means shorter lead times downstream. We saw the brand's commitment on the ground recently when a Fuchs representative and mechanic joined our team in Panama to train a customer's crew on a newly delivered orange peel grapple.
