Mecalac Moves Its North American Headquarters to Fayat Group Campus in South Carolina

Mecalac is moving its North American headquarters from Massachusetts to the Fayat Group campus in Ridgeway, South Carolina. The relocation, announced in late April, puts the compact equipment brand on the same site as its new parent company's other North American operations, with a grand opening scheduled for May 12, 2026.

The move follows Fayat's takeover of the Mecalac Group. The French construction and equipment group signed the agreement in March 2025 and completed the acquisition of a 100 percent stake on June 10, 2025. Fayat's equipment portfolio already includes BOMAG, Dynapac, and LeeBoy, and each brand keeps its own identity inside the group.

A Parts Distribution Center on the Same Campus

The detail that matters most to anyone running Mecalac machines is the parts side. The Ridgeway campus will host a new parts distribution center serving most Fayat Group brands, Mecalac included. Until now, Mecalac parts for the Americas have depended heavily on supply from the company's factories in France, so a stocked distribution point in the southeastern United States shortens the line considerably.

Pierre Lahutte, President of Mecalac, said the step "reinforces our confidence in North America's growth potential and demonstrates our commitment to delivering value to customers." Rob Mueckler, General Manager of Fayat North America, called the facility "testament to the group's engagement in the U.S. market."

What Mecalac Has Been Launching

Mecalac's product development has not slowed down through the ownership change. In 2025 the company unveiled the Revo990, described as the world's first backhoe loader with a rotating cab, and the eS900tele, a fully electric telescopic swing loader. The company also updated its site dumper range for the new EN 474 European standard while keeping its cabless 9-tonne model.

For urban and confined job sites, Mecalac's compact excavators, 360-degree swing loaders, and dumpers remain a specialized niche, and the brand is leaning further into electric versions of each.

It does not replace the factory supply chain, but it adds a closer option for the parts that turn most often.
