Genie, the Redmond, Washington-based aerial work platform brand owned by Terex Corporation, has closed its logistics and distribution facility in North Bend, WA. The closure is part of ongoing restructuring efforts at Terex as the company responds to shifting demand patterns and seeks to streamline its North American operations.

The North Bend facility handled parts distribution and logistics for Genie's extensive lineup of boom lifts, scissor lifts, and telehandlers — equipment that is widely used on construction sites, in industrial facilities, and at rental fleets across the U.S. and internationally.

What This Means for Genie Parts Users

Closures of distribution facilities typically affect lead times and regional parts availability in the short term. Customers who sourced parts through the North Bend hub may experience longer fulfillment times while Terex redistributes inventory to other logistics nodes in its network.

For contractors and fleet operators in the Pacific Northwest, this underscores the value of working with authorized distributors who carry standing stock of high-turn Genie parts rather than relying solely on factory logistics for critical components.

Context: Restructuring Across the Sector

The North Bend closure is not an isolated event. The heavy equipment sector has seen a wave of restructuring since 2024 as manufacturers adjust to post-pandemic demand normalization, rising input costs, and shifting fleet operator behavior. Terex itself has been consolidating manufacturing and logistics footprints across multiple brands, including Genie and its crane lines.

Terex Corporation has stated publicly that its restructuring goals are focused on improving operational efficiency and aligning capacity with current demand levels.
